Long Eaton Towns Fund news and survey
5 November 2020
The Towns Fund has £25 million pounds with Long Eaton’s name on it.
Make sure its spent is a way which will make your town a better place to live by taking part in the Towns Fund consultation. Communities should be part of originating ideas, rather than just giving feedback on proposals that are already some way along.
So say what would make you more likely to spend your time and money in the town, for example, a cinema or a bowling alley. Seven projects have been proposed, and you can read about them here.
One of the projects is building flats on the site of the old Galaxy Cinema and there are concerns about whether it is good value for money, or meets the housing needs of Long Eaton. We have prepared a brief guide to completing the Towns’ Fund consultation that we will publish in the next couple of days as a blog post to give you some food for thought when you’re filling in the survey. So discuss it with friends, share the link, have a dream about going out in town when COVID is over, and complete the survey.
Councillor Denise Bond has written a guide to the consultation survey, which you can read here.
The more people who have their say better the changes to our town will be.
