Dr Adam Thompson selected as our parliamentary candidate

Dr Adam Thompson has today been selected to stand as Labour’s Parliamentary candidate for Erewash.

Dr Adam Thompson is a scientist and activist with a history of organising campaigns in the community in Erewash, where he has lived for several years. In his day job, Adam is a research scientist working in manufacturing engineering, developing advanced manufacturing technologies. He holds a strong advocacy for increasing the number of expert voices in local and national government and the general science-literacy of British politics.

Speaking after his selection, Dr Adam Thompson said;

“I am humbled that Erewash Labour Party have chosen me to stand as their candidate at the next general election and I’m excited by the opportunity to represent the community I have called home for the past 7 years.

“It’s time for change in Erewash. We need an MP that will fight for local people, and I intend to be that MP. I want to hear from as many people across Erewash as possible between now and the next election; to listen to your concerns and understand how your MP can best represent you.

“I can’t wait to get started – the hard work starts now.”
