Sandiacre candidates

Who are Labour’s team for Sandiacre ward? Meet them here.

Richard Pollard
Hello I am Richard Pollard and I have lived in Erewash all my life. I am an engineer at a well known family owned bakery in Derby. I am an active member of Unite the Union and with my union colleagues I fight for equal rights for all, including campaigning for civil partnership rights for heterosexual couples, another ongoing campaign is to ban conversion therapy. I have decided to stand for election as I wish to work to improve the local community.

Gary Wilds
I am Gary Wilds and have lived in Sandiacre for the past 32 years. As a family, we have loved living here, since moving from Newark. I am a deputy charge nurse working at Queens Medical Centre and have been caring for people there for 22 years. I am married with two grown up children. During my time in Sandiacre, I have enjoyed being a Governor at Longmoor Primary school and co-founded our local homeless charity, now known as the Canaan Trust. I feel very privileged to be a new Labour candidate for our area and as your local councillor would relish the opportunity to represent all of you and your views on the local council. I am passionate about making our communities safer and enjoyed being involved in a campaign to install CCTV cameras at a local recreational park. And with my extensive healthcare background, I am fully committed to improving the health and wellbeing of all individuals within our community.

Andy Peck
I’m Andy Peck, a senior research consultant working for CGI and academia. I have lived in Erewash for 12 years and have worked throughout that time on supporting our local schools, sports clubs and environment. As your local councillor, I want to represent you and your views on the local council, putting local residents first. I’m really passionate about making our area a safe, environmentally sound place for our children’s generation.
